The Veterinary Software Support Specialist will provide technical over-the-phone support and troubleshooting of customers’ integrated software systems (practice management software integrations/PIMS) as they relate to Heska’s clinical analyzers and digital scanners. The Software Support Specialist position assists TSS Agents and Field Installers with the troubleshooting of connection errors between our analyzers and customers’ computers/PIMS, as well as perform software installs on a variety of customers’ computers that can vary from Windows 7 through Windows 10. The position requires the ability to use remote desktop-support tools to allow remote control of the customers’ computers to achieve appropriate resolution of connection issues. The position's responsibilities require independent analyses, communications and problem-solving skills. Support involves delivery of hands-on training, consultation, instruction and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, network and computer related systems and peripheral devices.  In addition, secondary responsibilities will involve performing testing of Heska’s analyzers against new versions of software as well as discovery and troubleshooting of anomalous situations, as well as creating and documenting internal processes and procedures to solve recurrent integration issues. Analyzer communication can occur over USB, RS-232 Serial, Wifi, Bluetooth and Ethernet.   The Software Support Specialist will conduct technical support over the phone, through chat services, email, or via remote desktop support applications; other responsibilities involve but are not limited to: specification, documentation, testing of computer systems, computer network connectivity, recommends hardware and software acquisitions and upgrades, and vendor relations.
